Facebook removes restriction on custom page URLs

NOTE: Facebook appear to be rolling this out gradually so some pages may still require 25 fans.

Facebook pages – many businesses and organisations have them, but not all page administrators set one of the simplest things, a custom URL, also known as a Facebook Username. Previously, Facebook required pages to have at least 25 fans in order to set up a custom URL for the page, but this restriction has now been lifted for some pages.

We recommend giving your Facebook page a custom URL as it makes it easy for your visitors to come back to your Facebook page through an easy to remember URL. For example, the URL of our Facebook page is – really easy to remember!

To set up a custom URL, head over to and choose the page you wish to give a custom URL.

Choose a name which is available and then click confirm when the following screen appears:

Make sure you are 100% certain on your Facebook username as you won’t be able to change it once you have confirmed it!
