How it all started

Ideal Web Design was founded by John Flanagan in 2005 as a standard website design business. However John soon realised that this market was already over-populated and a unique idea needed to be introduced. This lead to the birth of the 'Pay Monthly' solution. It allows a complete custom solution to be devised and then paid for by an affordable monthly payment.

The 'Pay Monthly' solution wasn't designed to replace the traditional 'lump sum' payment method, but to give clients an extra option. We do still allow conventional methods of payment, however the majority of our clients enjoy the flexibility that comes with the 'Pay Monthly' solution.

Success and Awards

People started to take notice of the new initiative and the business reached it's first final in early 2006 - The Shell LiveWire Young Entrepreneur of the Year Local Finals. John also reached the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award Regional Finals in both 2006 and 2007 which gave the business both recognition on a regional scale through press coverage.

Ideal Web Design's first client was Whitehaven RLFC back in 2005. In 2 years the website has been the cornerstone of the business. Now onto it's fourth version and recorded in excess of 10 million hits, it is one of the most visited websites in Cumbria. John has made Ideal Web Design a key name within rugby league circles by securing contracts with both professional and amateur clubs.
